Female
Growing up I had this poster in my room of a ballerina that my Mom had framed. It hung in my room the entire time I lived at home. It read "If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it." So here is my two cents for what it is worth. My Mother raised to be believe I can do anything I set my mind to. I was never going to just be given something.
I believe that women who are truly empowered empower other women. We lift each other up because we WANT to see each other succeed. From where I stand I see a lot of women who live to tear each other down.
If you want something. Go out and get it. The only thing standing in your way is yourself.
So on this International Women's Day, just know this: the change starts with you! Let that quote become your mantra.
Now onto fashion :)
Feminine Touches
I never went through a tomboy phase. It just was never for me. I only had brothers until I was 5, but I always played with barbies and never fought my mom to wear the ultra girly outfits with bows. I specifically remember owning multiple dresses and having a million bows (pretty sure I even wore baby heels).
Feminine and girly touches have just always been something I have gravitated towards. If it was pink or sparkly, you could almost guarantee I had it or had to have it!
Just in this outfit alone you can see
Pearl necklace -Kate Spade
Tulle Skirt -Jane
Curly Hair
Pink heels with pom pom details -Sam Edelman look alike
Pink nails
Pink shirt (even though it's a T) -Madewell
Cafe this way
I wanted to include this wall because it was actually my great grandparents cafe. I'm so thankful that even though the cafe is no longer around they keep the painted advertisement on the exterior wall! I think it adds character to the otherwise boring street. Fort Smith has been good about having painted murals all around "main street" Fort Smith. Even though it is not the traditional "main street" name it is the old main buildings that have been around for hundreds of years.
I think this is a fun and girly look that is easy to pull off and you can honestly wear anywhere. My hope is to provide affordable outfits to those fashion lovers who don't feel like breaking the bank every time they want to shop!
Xoxo,
